You have probably noticed by now, that your breasts are starting to feel fuller. You might have more pronounced veins on your breasts and that your nipples and areola continue to darken.

You may have even noticed that your breasts have started to leak. This is not your baby’s milk just yet, but it is colostrum. Colostrum is what your baby will feed off for the first few days after they arrive. It holds all the nutritional needs that your baby needs at that time, whilst you wait for your milk to come through.

It’s all very exciting times ahead. Your baby’s heartbeat can now be heard through just a stethoscope, meaning you could listen to it anytime you wanted to. Your baby can also now regulate their own body temperature which is an essential development for life after birth.

Ingrediënten

    For tomato relish

    • ½ small onion, diced
    • 200g tomatoes, diced
    • 1 lime
    • Zout en peper

    For the bean and rice burrito

    • 400g Mexican-style bean mix or mixed beans
    • 200g sweetcorn
    • Tortilla wraps
    • 150g long-grain rice
    • 200g plain yoghurt

Kook instructies

  1. For the tomato relish, mix together all the ingredients for the relish in a bowl and season with salt and pepper.
  2. For the bean and rice, heat a small frying pan over a medium heat and warm the beans for about 3-5 minutes. Add the sweetcorn and mix well.
  3. Wrap the tortillas in tin foil and pop in the oven for 7 minutes until warm and softened. Once all is cooked, assemble the wraps as you please.

  3. If you are experiencing shortness of breath, try practising some breathing techniques to help you catch your breath.
  4. Putting your feet up in this trimester is a must, you have to remember you a growing a baby inside that bump of yours.
