Wanneer moet ik zwangerschapsslipjes gaan dragen?

Most mums switch to maternity knickers between weeks 12 and 16, when regular knickers first start digging in or rolling down under a growing bump. Some women need them earlier if they're bloating heavily in the first trimester. There's no rush, and there's no right time; the moment your usual underwear becomes uncomfortable is the right time to switch. Our maternity knickers stretch with your hips through every trimester and stay supportive postpartum.

What's the difference between over-bump and under-bump maternity knickers?

Over-bump knickers sit across the top of the bump, giving warmth and gentle support across the abdomen. They're popular in the third trimester when the bump is larger and cooler nights call for more coverage. Under-bump knickers sit below the bump on the hips, cooler and lower-profile, popular through the second trimester and for women who find waistbands across the bump uncomfortable. Many mums own both for different stages and seasons.

Are maternity knickers comfortable enough for postpartum?

Yes. Many maternity knickers double as postpartum knickers, particularly the high-waisted styles which sit comfortably over a healing bump or above a C-section scar. The soft Tencel modal fabric is gentle on sensitive postpartum skin, and the wide waistband holds maternity pads securely. For specific C-section recovery, we'd also recommend our dedicated C-section knickers, which are cut higher and softer at the scar line.

What size maternity knickers should I order?

Order your pre-pregnancy size. Our maternity knickers have 4-way stretch that adapts as your hips and bump grow, so there's no need to size up. The only time we'd suggest going up is if you prefer a looser, slouchier fit late in the third trimester, or if you're carrying multiples. If you're between sizes, choose the smaller one; the stretch handles your full pregnancy comfortably.

Are maternity knickers good for sensitive skin?

Yes. Our maternity knickers are made from ultra-soft Tencel modal, a naturally hypoallergenic, breathable fabric that's gentle on sensitive skin. The seamless design avoids irritation, which matters when pregnancy hormones can make skin more reactive than usual. Tencel is also moisture-wicking, helping with the hot flushes and increased perspiration common from the second trimester onwards.
